Height: 29cm (12in) overall

Fire gilt mace with flared body applied with VR cypher encircled by laurels, and the regimental number 37 within a wreath of roses, shamrocks and thistles, rising from and acanthus leaf and scrollwork bands; the domed top, with beaded border and applied with three silvered battle honour scrolls for ‘Minden’, ‘Tournay’ and ‘Peninsula’, and surmounted by a Queen’s crown.

Mounted on velvet display base.

Raised in Ireland in 1702; the regiment was numbered 37 in the the line in 1751, it served in Germany during the Seven Years War (1756-63), winning at battle honour at Minden in 1759. At the start of the French Revolutionary Wars (1793-1802), the regiment returned to the Low Countries. It served at Tournay (1794), before serving at Bayonne in the final stages of the  Peninsula War.
