He was appointed a Page of the Presence at Windsor in May 1910, and on the occasion of the King’s Birthday in 1917, was awarded the Royal Victorian Medal in silver. During the course of his career he served Queen Victoria, Edward VII and George V, and received a host of British and foreign awards for zeal in the execution of duties. Gower retired in 1936.
