Watercolour on paper. An officer in review order of 1832 when the British light cavalry were re-uniformed from their traditional blue to red. William IV (1830-37), though a sailor himself, believed that red was the national military colour and that the Army should be dressed accordingly. Image: 27cm x 19.5cm Framed and glazed.
