A colour proof print signed by the King 'George R.I.' and signed by the artist Sir Oswald Birley, M.C., R.A., late Royal Fusiliers. The king is depicted in front of the Tower of London, the regimental headquarters of the 7th Foot, the Royal Fusiliers. The artist Sir Oswald Birley was a favourite portrait paint of the Royal Family. Other patrons included Winston Churchill, Eisenhower, Andrew Mellon and  J.P.Morgan. During the First world War he served with the Royal Fusiliers and was awarded the Military Cross.
