A Great War snapshot the Prince of Wales
Brigadier Eric Whitlock Goodman, D.S.O., M.C. was born 12 February 1893, and was educated at Wellington College and the RMA Woolwich. He went to France with 121st Heavy Battery, RGA in 1915; was mentioned in dispatches twice, and awarded the Military Cross. After inter-war operations in Iraq and the North West Frontier, Goodman was appointed Brigadier RA Malaya command in 1942, whence at the fall of Singapore he was taken prisoner remaining in captivity at Singapore, Formosa and Manchuria, until the Victory over the Japan was achieved.
